LO4: Pitching and feedback

My Pitch Presentation

Teacher Feedback
  • The feedback on my design work and drafts was positive.
  • I presented well and the layout of my powerpoint made my explanations very clear.
  • Think about local advertisements such as local magazines and newspapers. Also, there are potential alternate advertising methods, such as flyers, posters and billboards at gaming events like EGX Rezzed.
  • It would be very expensive to advertise on certain channels at particular times, one of things I need to consider is the time that the TV advertisement will be played.

LO3: Task d.) Risk assessment and recce form

Risk Assessment
ADRIFT Television Advertisement
The TV advertisement for the game ADRIFT would be created using Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere. I would take gameplay footage directly from the game and create a montage, or alrternatively a cinematic trailer as the advert. The advert would be edited and create at UTC Sheffield, below is a risk assessment for this process and location.

Recce Form
ADRIFT Television Advertisement
I have created this Recce sheet for my print-based and TV advert to ensure that the location I will be editing at will be suitable and safe to create the ads in.

LO3 Task c.) Production plan and budget

Total cost: £3360

The Cost of Software
TV Ad and Print Ad - £73.19
(Student cost of Adobe Create Suite for 1 month)

Total cost: £73.19

Final Campaign cost: £3433.19
(The Print and TV advert will take 5 days each to create, all of the staff will be payed living wage for 8 hours per day and the software will be licenced by Adobe.)

LO3: Task b.) Pre-production materials and visualisations

Game Synopsis
The player would face a range of challenges to progress through the level, which consist of objects they must jump over, run on or slide under. These 3 elements will be what makes the game more challenging as the user progresses because there will be a higher quantity of difficult jumps, slides and wall-runs. The player will be guided by arrows or colour which would show them which way they need to move and then it is up to them to use their skills and abilities to get past the objects. This game would be the most possible with the time and skills I have as I would need to make a more simple game and don't have a budget to produce a blockbuster style game. I would try to create all three elements but if it is too difficult then I could always create 2 of them as a contingency if I don't have enough time.
